I Ching & Tarot Help
Ancient wisdom traditions for guidance and insight
A Note from a Fellow Explorer
Divination: A note from your fellow explorer. Divination is a very subjective exercise. I have known people who routinely practice one or more of these fairly frequently, while I personally do so sparingly. When I was exposed to Taoism early in my twenties I came apon the I Ching. I purchased the de facto authority at the time Whilhelm's translation, and proceeded with my first divinations using the three coin approach. Well, the initial trials were quite profound and applicable to my situation at the time. Subsequently within a couple of days I was casting often with many different questions. Well, it finally came to a point when I was seeking guidance on a deep question, and I got the same hexagram twice in a row. But the answer was nebulous and not as focused as I hoped, so I cast a third time and suprizingly the hexagram was in the same vein as the others but even more nebulous. Frustrated, I went at it for a fourth time...I was rebuked...P'i - Stagnation! As I read it my body flushed as if I was completely embarrassed, which I was, and I realized that I was not being respectful to the process.

☯️ I Ching (Book of Changes)
I Ching Divination
Ancient Chinese WisdomThe I Ching is one of the oldest divination systems, dating back over 3,000 years. It uses 64 hexagrams (six-line symbols) to represent different situations and states of being.
How I Ching Works:
- Hexagrams: Six-line symbols made of broken (yin) and unbroken (yang) lines
- Yarrow Stalks: Traditional method using 50 yarrow stalks for casting
- Coin Method: Modern alternative using three coins
- Interpretation: Each hexagram has specific meanings and guidance
AI Unified Interpretation: After your hexagram is determined, our AI generates a Unified Reading that integrates the Judgment, Image, and any changing lines into a single narrative tailored to your question.
Understanding Hexagrams:
- Upper Trigram: Represents the outer situation or environment
- Lower Trigram: Represents the inner state or personal qualities
- Changing Lines: Lines that transform, indicating movement and change
- Resulting Hexagram: The final state after changes occur
Common Hexagram Meanings:
- Heaven (1): Creativity, strength, leadership
- Earth (2): Receptivity, nurturing, patience
- Water (29): Danger, wisdom, adaptability
- Fire (30): Clarity, illumination, transformation
- Mountain (52): Stillness, meditation, inner peace
- Lake (58): Joy, pleasure, satisfaction
